Out Actress Ruby Rose Left Twitter After Fans Said She Wasn't Gay Enough To Play Batwoman

The anti-diversity hoard on Twitter has showed its ugly head again.

Last week, the news hit that Orange is the New Black actress Ruby Rose was cast as Batwoman.

Again, Ruby Rose was cast in the role very recently, and many were excited by her close resemblance to the comic book character. That said, many were not so pleased.

Dlisted reports that Ruby Rose began receiving hateful messages from people complaining that she wasn’t Jewish or a good enough actress. Then, some even dared to say she wasn’t gay enough.

This eventually led to Ruby Rose deleting her Twitter.

As Rose posted in her final tweet:

“Where on earth did ‘Ruby is not a lesbian therefore she can’t be Batwoman’ come from — has to be the funniest most ridiculous thing I’ve ever read. I came out at 12? And have for the past 5 years had to deal with ‘she’s too gay’ how do y’all flip it like that? I didn’t change. I wish we would all support each other and our journeys. When women and when minorities join forces we are unstoppable… when we tear each other down it’s much more hurtful than from any group. But hey/ love a challenge I just wish women and the LGBT community supported each other more, My wish was we were all a little kinder and more supportive of each other…Sending everyone my love and gratitude, it’s been a rollercoaster of a year, this month especially. I am looking forward to getting more than 4 hours of sleep and to break from Twitter to focus all my energy on my next 2 projects. If you need me, I’ll be on my Bat Phone.”

Right now, the character will only appear in a single episode of an Arrow-verse crossover for the CW tv channel. That said, CW hopes that the character will get her own spinoff series in the future.

But who is Batwoman? She’s a DC Comics character whose superhero name has been helmed by two different people. The Batwoman iteration that most know today belongs to Kate Kane who appeared in 2006.

Kate is of Jewish descent and a former military academy student who had to leave after it was discovered that she was gay (this was before the end of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell).

While she momentarily engaged in the party life and obtained several tattoos, a mugging (which she thwarted) caused her to cross paths with Batman. That then led her to consider the life of a vigilante and she took up the identity known as Batwoman.

Ruby Rose is set to appear as Batwoman in an upcoming Arrow-verse crossover. The date of which has not yet been announced.

Anti-LGBT Heckler Gets A Piece of Armie Hammer's Mind

I didn’t really think it was possible for Armie Hammer to be more appealing than he already was. Did you see his performance in Sorry to Bother You? OMFG.

Anyway, apparently I was wrong. Hammer has just endeared himself to me and the LGBTQ+ community at large via a shutdown of an anti-trans heckler at his current Broadway show.

Some lady and her husband either took the title of the play Straight White Men at face value, or they were looking for trouble. The play is a satire about privilege. It’s now playing at the Helen Hayes Theater in NYC.

The show opens with trans activist Kate Bornstein taking the stage and addressing the audience: “Good evening, ladies, gentlemen, and the rest of us.”

This is when the female heckler shouted, “You’re not welcome here!” Then she and her husband booed loudly, obviously disrupting the performance.

Bornstein tweeted a thoughtful response to the event and aftermath on Facebook following the performance:

“It’s true what people are saying: a woman, in response to my opening line of the show, ’Good evening, ladies, gentlemen, and the rest of us,’ called out from the audience, ’You’re not welcome here.’ She could not have been more wrong.”

“Look, Straight White Men is a great work of art. And great art does upset people. It happens all the time. Please know that I’m not upset, or afraid. I’m more than ever proud to be part of this show.”

Hammer took to Twitter after the show, saying:

“To the woman in our audience who felt it was appropriate to yell, ‘You’re not welcome here!’ at Kate Bornstein, our beloved friend, co-worker, and now family member..... feel free never to come back.”

Hammer’s co-star Josh Charles was even more bold, tweeting, “Also feel free to go fuck yourself lady.”

Hammer later corresponded with audience members on social media to get the hecklers’ seat numbers, stating he’d report them to theater officials.

Straight White Men runs through Sept. 9 at the Hayes Theater in NYC.

Henry Cavill Blushes At Bold And Thirsty Fan Tweets In New Video

We all know that Henry Cavill is daddy AF, and many of his fans are crazy about him. But, how does the DC star handle all that love (and obsession)? This latest video lets us find out.

Cavill dropped by Buzzfeed studio and they gathered for him a bunch of screenshots of Tweets that were all about him. From fans wanting his tongue down their throats to other fans who are 99% sure about how big his you-know-what is.

Watching this, we had to cringe a little. When people post thirsty tweets like this, they forget that Superman, while certainly super, is still just a man. Though, who ever thought the man himself would read the tweets?

But on the other end, watching Cavill read all these tweets is both hilarious and very off-putting.

You have to see for yourself by watching down below.

CDC Warning To "Not Wash Or Reuse Condoms" Got Some Laughs On Twitter

File this under “Thanks, Captain Obvious?”

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) recently tweeted a public service announcement reminding folks to not “wash or re-use condoms.”

The informative tweet read, “We say it because people do it: Don’t wash or reuse #condoms! Use a fresh one for each #sex act.”

Now, I trust and believe that if the CDC, one of the foremost leaders on treating/preventing HIV, is tweeting it, it’s for a reason.

But - SRSLY? Folks have to be told condoms are a one and done kinda thing?

The Twitterverse thought this seemed a bit obvious, but then decided to have some fun.

So, to be clear:

Yes - Always use a condom to protect yourself from infections ranging from HIV to many other STDs.

Yes - You should check the condom before using to make sure it's not damaged.

No - Don't keep condoms in your wallet as friction and heat are not a condom's friends.

And no - don't reuse condoms. Please dispose of them sensibly.

For more info, click over to the CDC website here.

Happy Friday!

Gay Men's Description Of The LA Trader Joe's Shooter Goes Viral

A man’s fued with his grandmother turned into a deadly confrontation that escalated into a hostage situation and the murder of a supermarket worker. Yet, one gay man’s retelling of the situation, and the video going viral on twitter, somehow found humor in it all.

28-year-old Gene Evin Atkins was booked yesterday (Sunday, July 23) for being the suspect of two murders and a hostage situation that happened the day before.

Atkins allegedly shot  27-year-old employee Melyada Corado at a Trader Joe’s market in Los Angeles during a gunfight, according to Time Magazine.

Albert Corado, Melyada’s brother, confirmed her death through Twitter.

“I’m sad to say she didn’t make it. My baby sister. My world,” Albert posted online.

Melyada’s death was apparently the aftereffect of a family fued between Atkins and his 76-year-old grandmother Mary Elizabeth Madison who was recovering from surgery at their South L.A. home.

Madison allegedly complained about there being too many tv sets on, and that fight escalated to arguing about Atkin’s live-in girlfriend.

Eventually Atkins shot his grandmother and fled the scene. Relatives quickly called 911, and the incident became a car chase.

Atkins eventually ran into a pole outside a Trader Joe’s and a shootout followed, which led to the death of Corado. Atkins then entered the building.

While many customers and employees hid for safety, Atkins eventually handcuffed himself and turned himself in three hours later.

As scary and violent as all of that is, the internet insensitively found a way to make a joke out of it.

During the television coverage of the incident, one gay man named Miguel Trujillo gave a candid, many would say too honest, description of the shooter.

“He was a buff, sexy black guy with dreads," Trujillo told CNN. "He’s maybe 6…, if not 5’11, he’s around 6 feet."

"He’s really buff – that’s it."

That video later went viral on the internet with many people laughing at the description and others chastising the rest.

Back to the incident, Corado and Madison were the only casualties to the situation. Though, some customers/employees received minor injuries.

In addition, Atkins is currently being held on bail for $2 million dollars.

Our thoughts go out to the families of the fallen.

Twitter Went After Wiz Khalifa After He Said Men Who Bite Bananas Are Suspect

Rapper Wiz Khalifa is getting grief on Twitter after he made a stupid comment concerning bananas.

The “Black and Yellow” rapper was being interview by the radio show The Breakfast Club when he said the lines, "If you bite a banana, you sus." He then added: "n***as gotta break the banana in half.”

Apparently, the radio show started off their interview with the riveting conversation piece of favorite fruits and vegetables. Turns out though, they’d hit a goldmine after Wiz Khalifa added his random comment about bananas.

Unsurprisingly, Twitter was ready to pounce on Khalifa for his dumb comment. Everyday users and celebrities (of varying degrees) like Buzzfeed’s Quinta Brunson and gay singer/songwriter MNEK (who’s preparing for the release of his debut album) jumped on the mock Khalifa train.

Roseanne Barr Denies She is Racist in a Podcast Interview

Glad we got that sorted out! In a podcast interview, Roseanne Barr told listeners she is, in fact, not racist.

In the talk with Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, the sacked Roseanne star expressed a baffling mix of remorse, non-remorse and excuses for her racist tweet that led to the demise of ABC’s red-hot sitcom revival.

In the since-deleted tweet, Barr compared former Barack Obama staffer Valerie Jarrett, who is African-American, to an ape:

"muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj.”

The podcast in question was recorded in late May, days after the tweet that was followed by widespread outrage—including from Barr’s co-stars—and a swift cancellation from ABC.

"I lost everything, and I regretted it before I lost everything,” Barr told Boteach.

"And I said to God, 'I am willing to accept whatever consequences this brings because I know I've done wrong. I'm going to accept what the consequences are,' and I do, and I have. But they don't ever stop. They don't accept my apology, or explanation. And I've made myself a hate magnet.”

Then Barr claimed that she didn’t know Jarrett was African-American, implying her tweets weren’t in fact racially tinged.

"I'm a lot of things, a loudmouth and all that stuff. But I'm not stupid for God's sake. I never would have wittingly called any black person, [I would never had said] they are a monkey," Barr told her interviewer. "I just wouldn't do that. I didn't do that. And people think that I did that and it just kills me.”

Towards the end of the interview, Barr starting sounding like she more or less was taking responsibility for her headline-making actions, and Roseanne’s disastrous endgame.

"I should have been better, and I wasn't. And I caused a lot of pain. I know that, and that's the worse feeling in the world. I caused pain for my family, I caused pain for my mother, I caused pain to the two hundred out-of-work actors that I loved. And the crew and writers. I feel so bad that they gave me another chance and I blew it. But I did it,” said Barr.

"And what can I do now except say of course, I'm not a racist; I'm an idiot. And I might have done something that comes across as bigoted and ignorant, and I know that's how it came across. And you know, I asked for forgiveness because I do love all people, I really do.”

The day after the infamous tweet, Barr tried to pin some of the blame on Ambien, saying she was “ambien tweeting” late at night. Ambien’s parent company Sonafi was all too quick to clap back, saying in a statement that “racism is not a known side effect” of the sleep aid.

In the weeks since this podcast was recorded, ABC reached a deal to green light The Conners, a spinoff starring every Roseanne cast member except Barr.

A Virginia Grandmother Goes Viral After Ironing Her Grandchild's Bisexual Pride Flag

A Virginia grandmother went viral after her granddaughter shared the image of a loving gesture.

This past weekend, a woman named Lexie tweeted out a picture of her grandmother ironing her bisexual pride flag before she headed out to Washington, D.C.’s Pride.

In the tweet, which now has 34,300 comments, 239,000 likes, and 33,000 retweets, she wrote:

“I got up this morning to get ready for #DCPride. My grandma walked into my room, looked at my bi flag, and said, ‘Oh, this needs to be pressed out!’ Such a simple gesture, but it holds so much love and meaning for me.”

After she noticed that the original tweet was going viral, she sent out a second tweet explaining that she once was afraid to come out to her grandmother. That makes this gesture all the more meaningful.

Then finally, she tweeted out a third time to share a selfie with her grandmother while saying, “here’s another picture of my grandma because I want the world to see how beautiful she is! Show her some love! Happy pride y’all.”

An Alabama Lawmaker Lost Her Exit Job Because Of Tweet About Outing Her Closeted Governor

A gay lawmaker lost a potential job after saying she wanted to out a fellow Congresswoman.

Rep. Patricia Todd is Alabama’s first openly gay state lawmaker. Todd was gearing up to leave office and take up a job with a Florida LGBTQ nonprofit organization called One Orlando Alliance, but has now lost the job after making some public proclamations.

Tood posted on Twitter that she wanted to out Governor Kay Ivey after saying she’s heard rumors about Ivey’s sexuality for years now.

In the tweets, which have been hidden behind a protected Twitter account (but luckily, news sources were able to screenshot them), Todd said:

“Will someone out her for God’s sake? I have heard for years that she is gay and moved her girlfriend out of her house when she became Gov. I am sick of closeted elected officials.”

Despite many people and organizations being offended by Todd’s words, she doubled down on them and said she’s not sorry.

"I hate hypocrites," she told AL.com. Todd also added that she has no proof of Ivey being a closeted politician, but that she’s heard many rumors. She also asked others to "ask her directly if she has ever had a relationship with a woman."

That said, Todd may be regretting her words, or at least the aftermath of them, now that she’s moved to Orlando and lost her job.

One Orlando Alliance, which is an organization formed after the 2016 Pulse shooting, announced that it has retracted its job offer after Todd’s social media posts.

Jennifer Foster, the chairwoman of One Orlando Alliance, shared that Todd’s comments “don’t aligned” with the organization’s values.

“We strongly believe that coming out is a personal choice and we do not support involuntarily outing,” Foster said.

Meanwhile, Kay Ivey insists that Todd's statement was a "disgusting lie."

Roseanne Barr Made A Joke Of Herself After Attacking An Adult Film Star

Somebody clapped back at Roseanne in the funniest of ways.

Yesterday, a mini-fight went down on twitter that left us with a good laugh. It started when random twitter accounts started attacking famous porn star Stormy Daniels.

Daniels, rightfully, tried to defend herself but that garnered only more trolls and hateful responses.

One twitter account, under the name Sassy Southern Diva, posted a tweet, that’s now deleted, saying, “You’re disgusting and do not represent classy women AT ALL. Your fifteen minutes of fame will be up soon and we will all be thrilled when that day comes!”

Somehow, Academy award winning actress and outspoken women’s rights activist Patricia Arquette heard of the fight and decided to jump into the fray. Arquette responded with a tweet throwing shade at President Donald Trump.

That then led to Roseanne Barr deciding to defend Trump by throwing Daniels under the bus. In a short tweet, she replied, “She’s known for anal porn scenes.”

Daniels then defended herself with possibly the most beautiful tweet we’ve ever seen.

Of course, Patricia Arquette, the ever woke, also added that we shouldn’t demonize anal sex because its ultimately demonizing gay sex and gay people.

This is just the latest update to show how much Roseanne Barr has changed in the past few years. Barr used to be known for celebrating women’s rights, women’s sexuality, and women’s choices. Now, it seems that her conservative persona has made her bitter and mean.

For someone who used to be known for respecting both liberal and conservative views, and didn’t take politics too seriously as seen from her infamous Stars Spangled Banner performance that Daniels references, it’s amazing to see how much she’s changed.

What happened to the old Roseanne?
